Background:
The client’s property had an existing EPC that was rated G, but they had recently completed works in an attempt to improve the EPC to an E rating or above.
As the April 1st 2023 deadline for all properties achieving an E rating or above had already passed the property could not be advertised until a new EPC had been completed showing they had achieved the E rating.
Solution:
Clearway were able complete the EPC assessment, however we discovered that the property would only increase its rating to an F. In order to help the client achieve the required E rating some quick remedies were proposed that would help the client raise the EPC to the necessary standards.
Outcome:
As part of our remit, we held the EPC back from completion until the suggested works had been completed to improve the rating. Clearway then successfully submitted the new improved E rating, saving the client the time and cost of another EPC assessment.
