Longbridge has always been associated with car manufacturing for the last 100 years. However, sadly due to the immense change in the car industry it closed its doors in 2005.
One of Clearway (previously Sitewatch)’s major clients St Modwens Properties PLC purchased the 468-acre site in 2005 and is now undergoing a major regeneration programme of the former car works. In total, this is a 15 year project and includes the construction of a new town centre with all the premium high street brands on display such as, leisure facilities, the new Bourneville College complex and affordable housing which also figure in the overall forwards plans for the scheme which is set to transform the area.
Clearway was recently awarded the first phase of works to provide CCTV and ANPR coverage. This goes hand in hand with the latest IP technology, as the front-end control systems making it able to expand into other phases of the site over the forthcoming years. This type of forward thinking and customer focus is paramount to the Clearway ethos. The company always aims to fully understand any customer requirements before designing systems and draws on its long-standing expertise in the area of fire and security ensuring the system implemented meets and fulfils the customers needs.
Clearway are particularly proud to have been associated with the Longbridge project. With such an exemplar history in the area and one of the key locations for regeneration in not only the Midlands, but also the UK as a whole, the standing of the project and the security work that Clearway has carried out there speaks for itself.
