Automatic barrier gate systems are a physical safeguard against unauthorised vehicular entry and prevent a number of security risks such as theft, ram-raiding, car theft and vandalism, ensuring your site has a well-protected perimeter that is inaccessible to unverified visitors.
Clearway designs and installs electronic automatic barrier gate systems and bollards that use the latest technology, from static vehicle prevention systems to integrated raised barriers that work within a comprehensive access control solution.

Our automated vehicle barriers and retractable bollards are both efficient and cost-effective. They help to manage entry permissions and are used throughout residential parking facilities, business sites and commercial compounds.
The installation process is efficient and scheduled at your convenience, with integrated assets such as three-phase inverter motors and gearbox drives for automated arm barriers to operate from a single-phase supply with consistently smooth functionality.
Whether you wish to prevent vehicles from parking in a private space, integrate entry gates within a number plate recognition access control system, or need automated bollards to prevent cars from leaving without paying, our perimeter protection can provide a suitable solution.

Commercial Offices and Business Parks
Electric barriers can prevent unauthorised parking, control visitor access and ensure entry points are secure for staff, contractors and delivery drivers.

Industrial Units and Warehouses
Protect loading bays, storage areas and distribution centres by managing vehicle movement and ensuring only approved lorries, suppliers and employees can enter.

Construction Sites
Install temporary or permanent barriers to manage traffic flow around high-risk developments. This can protect machinery, tools and equipment, and control access throughout construction projects for health and safety purposes.

Residential Developments
Ensure that apartment blocks, private estates, and gated communities have automated gates to prevent unauthorised entry or parking without impeding residents’ access.

Retail Parks and Car Parks
Manage customer parking, prevent misuse of parking facilities including non-payment, and integrate barriers with ANPR or payment systems.

Public Sector Facilities
Schools, hospitals and council offices often use automatic barriers to improve site security and protect vulnerable patients, workers and students while ensuring emergency vehicle access is always possible.

Automatic barrier systems or bollards can be controlled with access codes or passes, which ensures that only verified employees or residents can enter.
Barriers prevent parking spaces from becoming overfilled, ensure that evacuation routes and emergency services access remain clear, and avoid unmanageable numbers of vehicles from trying to navigate a limited parking zone.
Bollards are impassable by vehicles and remove the potential for unauthorised people to enter your property, adding to the safety of personnel, tradespeople and contractors working on site.
Installing a set of barriers or bollards eliminates the potential for through traffic, which can support pedestrian safety, avoid excessive traffic levels, and create a safer zone with fewer possible hazards.
A set of barriers or bollards installed at strategic entry points is a proactive way to reduce the risk of unlawful entry and creates a safer operational environment with full control over which vehicles can enter and when.
Our automatic barriers and bollards can work alongside intercom systems, swipe cards, key fobs, biometric scanners and remote identification verification systems such as ANPR.
Barriers are used for permanent business entrances, short-term events and medium-term construction projects. They are suitable for any length of time depending on your requirements.
High-quality fixings, components and finishes ensure barriers are weather-resistant. This keeps them working correctly in all conditions and temperatures, with regular servicing recommended.

From Call to Hire, getting your site secured is straightforward
Our engineers start by assessing your site layout, traffic volumes, security risks and key requirements before recommending the most suitable barriers, gates or bollards.
We’ll design a customised vehicle access system which incorporates details such as the length of the barrier, the location of bollards and integrations with access control technology.
Installation teams complete all work as efficiently as possible to minimise disruption, including testing all connections and verifying that safety mechanisms are working correctly.
When barriers are ready to use, we’ll ensure that integrations with access permissions, ANPR databases, intercoms and operating schedules are all configured, and that the relevant staff are comfortable in managing barriers day to day.
Clearway offers preventative maintenance, repairs and technical support to ensure your barriers remain safe and reliable across the intended usage period.

Whether you’re dealing with trespass, abandoned vehicles or unauthorised parking, automated barriers ensure only approved vehicles can gain access.
Physical vehicle barriers create an immovable, visible obstacle that helps to protect buildings, compounds and valuable assets against deliberate vehicle attacks, trespassing and opportunistic crime.
Private parking spaces and car parks can often be used for illegal racing, fly-tipping and other criminal activity. Automated barriers help ensure parking remains available for staff, residents, visitors or paying customers while deterring unknown or unapproved users.
Busy commercial premises and higher-risk construction sites often need controlled vehicle movements to improve safety, reduce congestion and separate pedestrians from vehicle routes.
Rather than relying on staff to open gates or monitor entrances, automated systems provide secure, consistent vehicle access with minimal day-to-day intervention.
Older manual gates or standalone entry systems may no longer meet operational requirements. Modern automated barriers integrate with ANPR, intercoms and biometric access controls to improve both security and convenience.

Huge Thanks
A huge amount of thanks goes to ‘Clearway’ for their exemplary conduct and unwavering commitment to the safety of my site management, site operatives and construction site.

Effective vehicle security can provide a safeguard against countless issues, ensuring car parks, private businesses and construction sites have the right security, efficiency and ease of use for approved users, while preventing any form of unauthorised access.
We’ve designed and installed vehicle access systems for commercial premises, logistics centres, industrial facilities, residential developments, construction sites and public sector organisations throughout the UK.
Our experienced engineers plan installations carefully to minimise disruption to your business while ensuring systems are fully commissioned, tested and ready for reliable operation.
Every installation is based on a full assessment of how traffic flows into and out of your site, your opening or operating hours, key security risks and ongoing requirements.
Failure to properly service a gate may result in sudden malfunctions, hindering the entry or exit of vehicles from a site. In more serious situations, a malfunctioning electric gate poses a safety risk to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Clearway offers dependable, scheduled maintenance for electric gates, barriers, and bollards to ensure optimal functionality and safety. We also offer access control maintenance services for all access management operations.

Clearway supports diverse sectors requiring rapid security deployment. Our clients include construction companies, property developers, event organisers, and facility managers who need reliable surveillance solutions. We’re trusted by:

Gideon Reichental, explains the importance of Automatic Electric Barriers and Bollards for Vehicles.
‘In our experience, the best vehicle access systems are designed based on how a site, complex or building works day to day. Combining barriers and bollards with tech such as ANPR and intercoms helps businesses improve security, without making life harder for residents, or making it time-consuming for staff to get to and from their place of work.’

It is unlikely that you will require planning permission to fit a set of security bollards or automatic barrier systems if the site is private land, such as business premises.
The only scenario where you will usually need approval is if you wish to install bollards in a public space.
Please get in touch with Clearway if you would like more advice about fitting bollards in a zone where you believe planning permission may apply.
Our barriers can be manually or automatically operated, depending on your requirements. An automatic barrier can be integrated with existing access controls or configured with ANPR technology (automatic number plate recognition).
In this case, the barrier will lift when it detects a number plate stored in your approved vehicle database. You can regularly update the database if you are expecting a delivery or have an anticipated visitor.
Yes. We often work with clients who have some form of access control, but who need to upgrade their physical security to ensure anyone who shouldn’t be on site, or who hasn’t been pre-approved, is actively prevented from entering.
Gates and bollards can connect with all types of access controls, and we can also recommend improvements if your current system is outdated or isn’t meeting your security requirements.
Generally, barriers need to be serviced regularly to ensure they aren’t prone to unexpected failures, but the frequency of visits might depend on how heavy your usage is, and whether gates are outside in the elements or under cover.
Preventative maintenance is always advisable, as this maximises the reliability of your entry controls and ensures you’ll continue to be compliant with the relevant safety requirements.

Automatic barriers and bollards provide a visible, physical deterrent that often reduces the risk of illegal entry or unauthorised access. In many cases, business owners opt for additional perimeter or intruder detection solutions to enhance every aspect of their access control strategy:
