Sustainability exists to meet the needs of current generations without compromising those of future generations, whilst retaining a balance between economic growth, the environment and social well-being.
Clearway is committed to caring for the environment and the reduction in our direct and indirect impact upon it. We ensure that all our activities are carried out in line with the relevant environmental legislation and expectations of the wider community.
We seek to:
Minimise waste arisings;
Our technology is developed with both our own and our clients’ carbon footprint in mind. Alongside the wider security industry, Clearway continues to take full advantage of technological advancements to develop more sustainable products, from steel screens and concrete barriers that offer durable and robust protection, minimising the need for replacement or repair and reducing waste, to technology powered by renewable energy sources such as cameras and alarm solutions, solar powered CCTV towers and air quality monitoring.
Here are a few examples of our low-carbon solutions:
Our ISO 14001:2015 accreditation supports our environmental management processes which range from lower carbon production, efficient water usage, and waste and chemical management, to operating greener office environments. Our processes also include auditing suppliers regularly to understand and support their sustainability commitments so that together we are continuously improving.
We follow the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle approach to actively reduce the adverse impacts of our activities on the natural environment. As such, we actively encourage paperless offices, choose energy-reducing systems, and employ recycling systems in our journey toward energy conservation, consumption reduction, and environmental protection. We segregate waste in office locations to enhance recycling, have removed single use plastic cups for staff use (water coolers etc.) and use recycled paper for printing. We also operate a fleet of vehicles with a rolling upgrade strategy designed to meet efficiency targets and reduce emissions, this includes the use of electric vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure, where feasible.
